Mission Statement
The mission of Calvary Christian School as a ministry of Calvary Baptist Church is to be an extension of the Christian home in the training of its children. Training children includes developing the whole child academically as well as training each one to know his or her individual responsibilities to family, church, and country. Each subject at Calvary Christian School is taught according to the principles of and within the framework of the Word of God. We desire to train each student to accept individual responsibility to God for his or her actions and to challenge the individual to glorify God through each action and in every facet of his or her life.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction (Proverbs 1:7).
Statement of Faith
As a ministry of Calvary Baptist Church, Calvary Christian School works in accordance with the church’s statement of faith.
- We believe that the Bible is God’s Word and that it is the infallible authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
- We believe in God the Father and Jesus Christ the eternal and only begotten Son of God.
- We believe Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and made atonement for the sins of the world by His death.
- We believe in Christ’s bodily resurrection, ascension, and visible, pre-millennial return to the world according to His promise.
- We believe in the Holy Spirit who comes forth from God to convict the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; and to regenerate, sanctify, and comfort those who believe in Jesus Christ.
- We believe that all men are sinners, both by nature and by choice, but: “God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
- We believe, therefore, that those who refuse to accept Christ as Lord and Savior will be forever separated from God in an eternal hell.
- We believe in the church, a living, spiritual body of which Christ is the head and of which all regenerated people are members.
- We believe that a local church is a company of believers saved by faith in Jesus Christ; baptized by immersion on a credible confession of faith; and associated for worship, work, and fellowship.
- We believe that the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper were committed for perpetual observance to these local churches and that God has laid upon these churches the task of proclaiming to a lost world the acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior.
