Mrs. Cheryl Hinton is a part-time teacher in our elementary art program, and we have been honored to have her on our staff since 2012. She is semi-retired now, having taught full time for many years in Christian schools along with being a former Christian school principal.
She became a teacher because she wanted to help children, watch them learn, and help them to see that there are many more aspects to learning than just reading a book. She chose to teach in Christian education because she can talk to the students about the Lord, and she has the freedom to pray in the classroom.
Personal goals she has for the students are for them to be the best they can be academically and for them to know the Lord and to study his Word. As a teacher her goals are to be prepared, search out new things that will help students learn and grow, and help the students be comfortable in the classroom. She wants to teach in a way where the students will retain what they are learning.
Her favorite scripture verse is Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” She is also a proud wife, mother, and grandma.
